Happiness is a state of mind. Specifically, it is a state of “well-being and contentment.” But the definition can be tricky, and assumptions about the word can cause confusion. Many don’t even realize learning how to be happy is something that can be intentionally practiced. The long-term feeling of life satisfaction is most experienced when we embrace the emotion of joy in the here and now. And we accomplish that by taking steps each day to be happy.

Surrender your grief and suffering to the universe
Life becomes a lot more tense and unmanageable if you try to control everything yourself. If you want to leave absolutely nothing to the universe and you want to think through everything yourself, then good luck! It’s incredible how much power we give past events, both happy and devastating.
When we hold on to the memories and allow them to keep replaying in our minds as if they just happened yesterday, it deprives us of any happiness in the present. Many of us learned to stuff our feelings to make others more comfortable or because being vulnerable wasn’t safe for us to do. But to avoid getting stuck in our emotions, we must allow them to flow. It’s by allowing ourselves to feel that we can understand and release them.
We need to surrender our grief and suffering to the universe. By doing this, you are saying, ‘I am just happy to be here. Things could have been much worse.’ This way, you let go of your pain and limiting beliefs and regain your confidence to love again.
